The Bush Administration: How Katrina Interrupted Our Summer Vacation
Over the course of the last few days, the President has mumbled something about investigating his administration's performance and the disaster in New Orleans (Yes, I know, that's redundant.).
Here's a place for his investigation to start. He should begin by making public the following schedules, in detail, for the period 72 hours preceding Katrina and the 72 hours immediately thereafter:
His, Cheney's, all members of his cabinet, and all members of his senior staff.
Here's what we already know about their schedules:
Bush was on vacation, as has been well-documented. Cheney was fly-fishing and shopping for a new multi-million dollar vacation home. Rumsfeld was attending a baseball game in San Diego. Rice was shoe shopping in New York.
So how could anything have possibly gone wrong?
