Submitted by Roy Temple on Thu, 02/09/2006 - 8:19am.Someone from Senator Conrad Burns office has been tampering with his bio entry on Wikipedia. Here's the original DSCC release on one of the events that Burns wanted to make go away.
And in a further attempt to revise history and remove all traces of his negative past in preparation for his reelection bid, Burns tossed one of his staffers overboard yesterday.

Submitted by Roy Temple on Thu, 02/09/2006 - 7:07am.Today's Tracy Press reports that in 2003, the taxpayers paid the bill for Rep. Richard Pombo's family vacation.
In summer 2003, just after he was named chairman of the House Resources Committee, Rep. Richard Pombo loaded the family in an RV for “two weeks on vacation†traveling around the West.
Documents obtained by the Tracy Press show taxpayers covered most of his expenses.
“This August, my family and I rented an RV and set out to explore the West,†Pombo, R-Tracy, wrote in a 2003 article posted on the Resources Committee’s Web site.

That's why I have co-sponsored a "sense of the Senate" amendment, along with my colleagues John Kerry and Frank Lautenberg, urging the White House to provide the American people with a thorough account of the meetings the President, his staff, and senior executive branch officials had with disgraced lobbyist Jack Abramoff.
It's time for President Bush to answer our questions about Jack Abramoff. Urge your Senators to support my amendment today!

When Boehner Says He Is Close To Lobbyists....
Submitted by Roy Temple on Wed, 02/08/2006 - 8:46am.He really means it. The new Majority Leader lives in a Capitol Hill apartment owned by a K Street lobbyist.
According to the Washington Post:
Rep. John A. Boehner (R-Ohio), who was elected House majority leader last week, is renting his Capitol Hill apartment from a veteran lobbyist whose clients have direct stakes in legislation Boehner has co-written and that he has overseen as chairman of the Education and the Workforce Committee.

Oh To Be A Fly On The Wall At This RGA Event
Submitted by Roy Temple on Tue, 02/07/2006 - 8:19am.
The AP reports that Governors Rick Perry of Texas, Mitt Romney of Massachusetts, and Matt Blunt of Missouri all gathered in Texas yesterday for two RGA fundraising events, one in Dallas, and one in Houston.
You have to imagine that the conversation between the three of them had to be pretty interesting, given that all three are caught up in political and campaign finance scandals these days.
Governor Perry is under fire for steering a massive lobbying contract to Cassidy & Associates, the firm led by Rep. Roy Blunt's former Chief of Staff Gregg Hartley, and where former Team Abramoff lobbyist Todd Boulanger handles the account. Boulanger is married to Rep. Roy Blunt's spokeswoman, Jessica Boulanger.
Boehner: All K Street All The Time
Submitted by Roy Temple on Mon, 02/06/2006 - 7:42am.There's a pretty interesting story in today's USA Today about Rep. John Boehner and his fundraising activity.
On Boehner's leadership PAC:
With the fund, Boehner raised money from companies such as Sallie Mae, Merrill Lynch, R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. and Cincinnati Financial Corp., and doled out nearly $3 million to dozens of House members over the last 11 years.
This is starting to sound familiar already.

Greetings All! Allow me to introduce myself. I am a ninth generation American. I come from a long line of northeast Missouri Democrats. My ancestors built this country. They fought and died for liberty, justice and the American way. It pains me to see the success they achieved erroded by global corportate elitists hell-bent on securing their stranglehold in Washington D.C.
