Pat Robertson Prediction '07

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - In what has become an annual tradition of prognostications, religious broadcaster Pat Robertson predicted Tuesday that a terrorist attack on the United States would result in “mass killing” late in 2007.

“I’m not necessarily saying it’s going to be nuclear,” he said during his news-and-talk television show “The 700 Club” on the Christian Broadcasting Network. “The Lord didn’t say nuclear. But I do believe it will be something like that.”

Robertson said God told him during a recent prayer retreat that major cities and possibly millions of people will be affected by the attack, which should take place sometime after September.

The Homophobic Right in America

The Homophobic Right In America
Homophobia is still considered an acceptable prejudice in many parts of this country. Our kids use terms like "fag" and "homo" to put down people they dislike or consider odd or weird. Winking jokes about being gay are still regular elements of mainstream television and movies. Homophobia is a "family values" prejudice.

In an era when most people would not consider making a racial slur, and ethnic bigotry is all but banished from the media, why are anti-gay comments and stereotypes still thriving?

Bible Classes In Georgia's Public Schools????

Here's the link to this story.

http://today.reuters.com/news/newsarticle.aspx?type=topNews&storyid=2006-03-28T175349Z_01_N28210585_RTRUKOC_0_US-RELIGION-GEORGIA.xml

I'm in shock...the religious right is paving the road for our youth in OUR public schools. What happened to the Separation of Church and State, anyway? There were NO Baptists present at the signing of the U.S. Constitution!!! Most of our founding fathers were Quaker.

Pat Robertson Is Clearly Not Well

The signs have been there for a long time that Pat Robertson is not well. But Media Matters has a bit on his latest outburst that really is baffling.

On the January 5 edition of Christian Broadcasting Network's (CBN) The 700 Club, host Pat Robertson suggested that Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's recent stroke
was the result of Sharon's policy, which he claimed is "dividing God's
land." Robertson admonished: "I would say woe unto any prime minister
of Israel who takes a similar course to appease the EU [European
Union], the United Nations, or United States of America." Although
Robertson professed that "Sharon was personally a very likeable
person," he nonetheless declared that "God has enmity against those
who, quote, 'divide my land.' "
