For Iraqi Constitution: On Time, Or Not On Time? That Is The Question

I'm not sure if the Iraqis can agree on when they'll have a constitution or not, but America's leading newspapers can't seem to agree.

The NYT says that Iraq has agreed to finish their constitution by the original deadline of August 15th.  But the WSJ and the LAT seem to think decision has not yet been finally made.

The AP says the decision was finally made on Monday, after intense U.S. pressure was applied to stick to the original deadline.  But they seemed to leave themselves some wiggle room.

Bowing to intense U.S. pressure, the head of the commission writing Iraq's new constitution agreed Monday to stick to the Aug. 15 deadline to complete the draft on condition that political leaders can exert their influence to overcome remaining differences.
