This has to be one of the more bizarre political stories ever.  Apparently, Rep. Bob Ney is going around the district during the break trying to outrun the stench emanating off his ties to Jack Abramoff.  In the process, he is pulling off a passable imitation of President Nixon.

Here are his talking points:

• I am not a crook.
• Other people took more money from Abramoff than me.
• Even if there were quid pro quos between me and Abramoff, look at all the pork I have brought back to the district.

Conservative philosophy has sure taken some interesting turns lately.
