On the surface, you might assume that Rep. Eric Cantor and Majority Leader Roy Blunt would be natural allies.  Both have been staunch defenders of Rep. Tom DeLay, and they have worked closely together throughout their congressional careers.

So you can only assume that Cantor is linking to unflattering stories about Roy Blunt on his campaign website because he is trying to cover his bases in case both Blunt and DeLay implode. 

Maybe he is hoping that in the upcoming leadership races, he can attempt to claim, "I have been independent of those crooks Blunt and DeLay for months.  If you don't believe it, just look at my campaign website."
