Hawaii does what Bush won't do

The AP reports that Hawaii is setting caps on the wholesale price of of gasoline.

Big Oil officials and "analysts" say that Hawaii's attempt at halting price gouging will cause the island state to become less attractive to suppliers, raising the possibility of supply problems down the road.

Another  energy "expert" weighed in with: "It may make one of the refineries shut down and leave Hawaii" .

Threats?

The idea was crafted using market-related pricing mechanisms, so it's not a "Socialist conspiracy" that it will inevitably be labeled by the radical right.

Lou Dobbs sums up Bush's 2nd term

I thought it would be nice to share some of Lou's comments after a report on his show, Lou Dobbs Tonight, about the President's sinking poll numbers:

When President Bush was reelected last year by the smallest margin ever for a sitting president, the president said he had earned political capital and he planned to spend it. So far, President Bush has earned little return on the political capital that he has invested so far in his second term.

The day after he was reelected, President Bush said he was investing that political capital it in Social Security reform and revamping the tax code. Nothing has been accomplished on either of those issues.

'lowest point in my life'
