Barbara Bush Thinks Things Are Working Out Well For Katrina's Victims
There is something very seriously wrong with the Bush family when it comes to disasters. They have no capacity for empathy or understanding the plight of others. Maybe they reason they make fun of Clinton for "feeling others pain" is that they are totally incapable of it.
We all remember how poorly President George H.W. Bush handled Hurricane Andrew during his tenure as President, and "W" has now has created his very own Post-Katrina Recovery Disaster.
But now comes word that Barbara Bush thinks things are working out very well for the victims of Katrina and the Bush administration's mismanagement of the aftermath. What is the genetic defect here?
Here's a snip from an Editor & Publisher story:
In a segment at the top of the show on the surge of evacuees to the Texas city, Barbara Bush said: "Almost everyone I’ve talked to says we're going to move to Houston."
Then she added: "What I’m hearing is they all want to stay in Texas. Everyone is so overwhelmed by the hospitality.
"And so many of the people in the arena here, you know, were underprivileged anyway, so this--this (she chuckles slightly) is working very well for them."
There's just nothing to be said in the face of that sort of callousness.
